Features
The WAM-X25+ Wireless Activity Monitor is a compact, tablet-sized, multi-band radio frequency (RF) signal detector that can be used in your hand or on a desktop. It is designed to detect and record transmissions from many types of radio frequency devices.
Broadband detection
The broadband detector (0-14 GHz) provides coverage for RF activity in the monitored area. The frequency of the detected signal (up to 6 GHz) can be simultaneously displayed; furthermore, the “Livescan” software graphically displays the signal trend in real time, making it easy to identify the type of signal. This feature is particularly useful for identifying devices that transmit pulses or bursts of data, such as GPS trackers.
Global Cellular Band Detection
The WAM-X25+ features dedicated multi-band cellular coverage for global use. Simply select your geographic region of use and the WAM-X25+ will detect signals from all relevant local cellular bands. This makes the WAM-X25+ ready for the adoption of the latest 5G devices worldwide. All existing 2G, 3G, and 4G bands are also covered. The device can be used in any environment where the use of cellular equipment is prohibited, for example, to locate hidden devices in confidential meeting rooms, detect unauthorized use of cell phones in offices, exam rooms, hospitals, or correctional facilities, or to locate the latest vehicle and asset tracking devices. All cellular activity is logged and can be viewed at any time, either in graphical or list format.
2.4, 5, and 6 GHz Wi-Fi detection
The WAM-X25+ features dedicated channels for the 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz bands, allowing it to detect rapidly growing threats related to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, video transmissions, and other cutting-edge devices with “store and forward” technology. These devices can, for example, record audio for extended periods and then transmit it in short, periodic bursts. The device can also detect other devices that use these bands, such as covert wireless video transmitters.
Wi-Fi Network Analyzer
The WAM-X25+ features a new independent Wi-Fi network analyzer (2.4, 5 and 6 GHz) to provide detailed information about the activity of WLAN networks in the surrounding area, such as hotspots, routers, Wi-Fi cameras, etc. The device scans detected Wi-Fi Access Points and clients and compiles a detailed list of information – date and time of the event, Wi-Fi MAC address, manufacturer (if available), type (Access Point or client), number of detected data packets, Wi-Fi SSID (if available) and band (2.4, 5 or 6 GHz).
Bluetooth Device Analyzer
The WAM-X25+ also features a built-in Bluetooth analyzer to list nearby active Bluetooth devices, such as smartphones, tablets, headphones, fitness trackers, etc. The information collected includes the date and time of the event, Bluetooth MAC address, manufacturer (if available), signal strength in dBm, and the number of data packets detected.
Direction detection function
The new Directional Finding mode allows the user to pinpoint the source of a detected RF signal by rotating the WAM-X25+ 360 degrees using the included directional antenna. As the unit is slowly rotated, signal strength data is collected and displayed graphically over the 360-degree arc, providing the user with a precise indication of the detected signal source.
The new keypad design makes operation simple and intuitive. All information is displayed on a 7-inch high-resolution color TFT screen, allowing the user to take real-time readings while simultaneously viewing previous events. Each band features a dedicated 20-element signal strength indicator, allowing the user to easily pinpoint the exact source of the detected signal. An audible alert mode (beep) allows monitoring without having to look at the display, while the silent mode with vibration is ideal for particularly sensitive areas.
The WAM-X25+ can store up to 10,000 events, which can be viewed in list or graphical format. For each detected signal (regardless of duration), the date and time, duration, detected band, and signal strength are recorded. This information can be particularly useful in identifying the type of device detected. For example, a series of short, regular pulses in a specific frequency band could be coming from a GSM/GPS tracking device. Such signals are clearly visible in graphical format as regularly spaced lines, reflecting the pulsating nature of the transmission. Additionally, analyzing call activity at specific times of day can help identify unauthorized use of phones in sensitive areas, such as prisons, corporate meeting rooms, exam rooms, etc. The entire event log can be downloaded to a USB stick for archiving or transfer to a computer, where the data can be viewed and organized for analysis or reporting.
The WAM-X25+ is designed and manufactured in the UK to the highest technical standards and features a rugged, custom-built enclosure made from machined aircraft-grade aluminum. It features a built-in lithium-polymer battery and comes with a universal charger. The complete system is housed in a compact, ultra-rugged, military-grade carrying case for maximum protection.
